These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Changesmith, operated by Mr. Phil Games ("we", "our", or "us"). By using our service, you agree to these terms.
Service Description
Changesmith is a changelog generation service that analyzes your git repository history and uses AI to create release notes. We provide both a web application and a command-line interface (CLI).
Account Requirements
To use Changesmith, you must:
- Have a valid GitHub account
- Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
- Provide accurate account information
- Keep your account credentials secure
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Use the service to generate harmful, abusive, or misleading content
- Exceed the usage limits of your plan
- Resell or redistribute the service without permission
GitHub Integration
By connecting your GitHub account, you authorize us to access your repositories as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to grant us access to any repositories you connect.
AI-Generated Content
Changelogs generated by our service are created using AI and may require review and editing before publication. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before publishing. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated changelogs.
Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
Free Tier
The free tier is provided as-is with limited features and usage. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time.
Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of your repository data and any changelogs you create. We retain ownership of the Changesmith service, including our software, design, and branding.
By using our service, you grant us a limited license to process your repository data for the purpose of generating changelogs.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Changesmith and Mr. Phil Games shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
Our total liability for any claims related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends and we may delete your data.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the service. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United States.
